Protocol support matters less than correct configuration. HTTP proxies are straightforward for browser traffic, while SOCKS5 can route traffic for applications that support it. Neither protocol automatically encrypts the connection between your device and the proxy; the destination’s HTTPS connection protects web content in transit.

- Check the browser first.Confirm that your browser, DNS and device clock work normally before adding a proxy. If the site fails on every connection, changing the IP may hide the real problem rather than solve it.

Service-side availability
Pages and media hosts can be unavailable independently of your connection. Compare one direct request with one stable proxy request instead of cycling through many addresses.
